Shandra Basil, DO, MS

Dr. Basil is a Board-Certified Osteopathic Family Physician. She received her medical degree from Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine (OUHCOM) and completed her Family Medicine Residency at Adena Regional Medical Center. She received her Bachelors of Science in Exercise Biology and Masters of Science in Human Anatomy from Wright State University. She is a Clinical Assistant Professor at OUHCOM, teaching Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM). She was awarded the 2024 ACOFP Young Family Physician of the Year award.

Dr. Basil believes in a holistic approach to health and uses nutrition and Osteopathic manipulation to help assist the body in healing. She is an Ohio native and was born and raised in Chillicothe, Ohio where she met her husband. They have two children who are their pride and joy. When Dr. Basil isn’t in the office taking care of patients, she likes to spend quality time with her family and friends and volunteer at Rock City Church. She also enjoys traveling, especially visiting National Parks, Disney World, and going on cruises.

RaeLeah Peters, Administrative Assistant

RaeLeah was born and raised in Chillicothe, Ohio where she met and married her high school sweetheart. After growing together through a six year enlistment in the United States Air Force and welcoming two beautiful children into the world, they are very thankful to be back in their hometown raising their children alongside family and friends.

RaeLeah is currently pursuing a degree in social psychology and has 10+ years of experience in administrative support. She has a passion for nutrition and working with people. When she’s not in the office welcoming patients, you’ll find her spending time with family and friends or experiencing life in the great outdoors. She loves to travel, cook, exercise, hike, kayak, and fish.
